We had extremely bad experience today. This is our first time to come to Rojo the Mexican restaurant. After I made an order from the cashier, we sat down at the table and noticed that each table has a table number on a wood spoon which has been given by cashier. One waitress carried the meals to tables based on table numbers, At first, I thought cashier forgot to give us our table number, so I back to her to ask our table number. The cashier was rude, she said you got your table number. I said you did not give it to me. She ignored me, started to talk to another customer. I returned to my table to observe, and found out that we were the only one had not been given a table number. I stopped that only waitress to ask her about whats our table number. She rudely told me: I dont know, I dont help serve you. I was shocked! My 10 years old son was with me, he asked me why we had been treated differently, he told me I dont want to stay here, people here are racist. BTW, we came from New York. Me and my family realized we had been treated differently in this place maybe because of our skin color. I walked back to the cashier told her I was not satisfied with service here, we felt we been treated diffrently, I asked to refund. She said your table number is 12. So finally we got our table number after all been through above. I told her I dont need to know my table number now, we need to leave. She started to call her boss. What she explained to her boss over the phone is: we are very busy, this customer can not wait, she asked to refund. She did not exactly tell the truth by and, she knew why we wanted to leave. I hoped her boss could see my comments here and confirm them. He has hired a non respectful cashier and waitress help his customers!
This great spot is tucked away from the main strip in Hinton, but is well worth the 10 minute drive. They serve favourites like burritos, tacos, and enchiladas. Also, be sure to try some of their homemade hot sauces.
its was very busy when we walk in. we waited 20 minute but it worth it.great food , friendly staff and Homemade Guacamole and chips is so fresh.Hinton is very lucky to have Rojo Marron Restaurant.definitely come back soon.Highly recommend this.
Visited with high enthusiasm after reading the great reviews. Had 4 different kinds of tacos. Taste was average IMHO. The server was not very friendly and seemed annoyed when I requested an extra set of cutlery (there were 5 of us including kids and were given 4 sets of cutlery). Other staffs were friendly and courteous.
Delicious authentic Mexican cuisine, coffee and in-house made tortillas to-go. The dishes are always fresh and made to order quickly. The tortillas can be purchased for $8.00 for a large array and they are exquisite. The prices are fair on the food although the margaritas are quite high albeit very good quality. This is a gem in Hinton. If you are passing through, definitely stop and check it out. You won't find better enchiladas, tacos, burritos, or beans and rice in the province. And the decor is beautiful.
